Qualifying Procedure for Nottingham

For the second consecutive year the National Watersports Sports Centre, Nottingham in England opens its doors to welcome the competitors from the UIM Formula 2 World Championship.

The two pin course is laid out on the 2000 metre Regatta Lake which has hosted
the World Rowing Championships, the biannual Great Britain vs. France Match, Great Britain National Championships, National Schools Regatta and British University Sports Association Regatta (one of Europe’s largest Regattas).

Due to its narrow design, 140 metres in width and an entry list exceeding the sixteen positions on the grid, both Free Practice and Qualifying will be split into two sessions.
From the entry list the drivers will be split into two groups, A and B for Free Practice.
Once both Free Practice sessions have been completed the times will be amalgamated then split in two to establish groups A and B for Qualifying.

After all four thirty minute Qualifying sessions have been completed the top five drivers from Groups A and B will go straight into Sundays British Grand Prix.

On Sunday morning a repacharge will take place for those drivers yet to qualify for the Grand Prix. The top six finishes will then join the ten drivers already through.

For those drivers who missed out, there will still be a chance to head home with some silverware as they will then compete for the F2 International Cup which will take place just before the Grand Prix.
