Norwegian Grand Prix gets Green Light

Another return to the 2024 UIM F2 World Calendar is the Tønsberg Båtrace’ which will see Norway’s oldest city play host to Round 2 of the Championship in the guise of the Grand Prix of Norway.

Organisers from the Tønsberg Motorsport Club have been busy working behind the scenes to secure the infrastructure required to host the race and last month announced that now the club is established; sponsorship agreements were falling into place and most importantly the agreement with UIM was signed they were happy to announce that the event now had the ‘green light’ to go ahead on the 2nd – 4th August 2024.

It was Germany’s Stefan Hagin grabbed the bragging rights at the 2019 Tønsberg Båtrace’ when the F2 World Championship last entertained the Norwegian crowds claiming his first F2 World Championship Grand Win.

Although the 2024 Båtrace is still work in progress, organiser Frode Sundsdal is keen to see the action get under way on the Friday evening with an Opening Ceremony followed by the Speed Run and then the drivers from the UIM F2 World Championship competing in a Match Race alongside the restaurants on the pier.

We will bring you more updates on the event as we get them but it’s promising to be a fantastic second round of what’s set to be an exhilarating season.
